Marina Prior is regarded as Australia’s leading lady of musical theatre. She is best known for her lead role in The Phantom of the Opera which she played for over three years. She has also performed with international stars including Richard Harris and José Carreras. Marina has played the lead role in productions including The Pirates of Penzance, Cats, Les Miserables, Die Fledermaus, Anything Goes, West Side Story, The Secret Garden, Showboat, The Merry Widow, The Witches of Eastwick, Noises Off, Harp on the Willow, Annie Get Your Gun, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Hypocrite, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Guys & Dolls, Mary Poppins and Promises Promises. Whilst she is well known to television audiences through her
appearances on Carols by Candlelight and as a judge on Channel Seven’s top rating It Takes Two.

Marina’s recordings include Leading Lady (which reached platinum status), Aspects of Andrew Lloyd Webber (which reached gold status and for which she was nominated for an ARIA award), Somewhere – the Songs of Sondheim and Bernstein and, more recently, Both Sides Now, Encore and Christmas Candlelight. Over the years, she has won numerous awards for her performances on stage as well as an Advance Australia Award for her contribution to the performing arts. Marina was surprised on stage by the television program This is Your Life which celebrated her life in the Arts. She was honoured with induction into Australia’s 100 Entertainers of the Century. 2016 has seen Marina perform in the “Sound Of music” throughout Australia.

Audiences are thrilled by the ever popular classical arias such as La Donna e Mobile & Nessun Dorma, to other popular arias from the best known Operas, traditional Neapolitan songs such as Funiculi Funicular, and popular tenor tunes from the hit music theatre productions such as Somewhere from West Side Story, The Impossible Dream, Bring Him Home, This Is The Moment, and beautiful duets including, All I Ask of you Phantom of the Opera, The Prayer, (Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli song). “Time to Say Goodbye” made famous by (Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman), “Amigos Para Siempre” (Friends for Life).

An absolute stunning program that encapsulates the spirit, the beauty and vocal demand of the truly authentic tenor voice. A performance from “The Australian Tenors” is never complete without the ever popular I Am Australian, Waltzing Matilda, Australia My Country (Dorothea Mackellar poem), among other favourites.

Their vocal artistry, powerful stage presence and their ability to connect with an audience earns “bravos” and standing ovations wherever they appear. The Australian Tenors have performed extensively with Opera Australia, Australian and International Symphonies & Philharmonic Orchestras.
