Functions at NORTHS
At NORTHS we strive to offer excellence in function service – accompanied with fine quality food, flexible event arrangement and value for money. NORTHS can cater for a vast array of functions and events, varying in size, style & specific requirements. From an intimate seated dinner to a large upscale gala event NORTHS has private function rooms and function areas suited to every occasion.

Located upstairs on Level 1, this private function room is a self-contained space for larger events and is fully equipped with two private bars, and sound and lighting equipment. The Auditorium is the ideal room to hold corporate or social gala dinners, fundraising events, live shows, school formals, product launches, expos and many more.

We have had our bi-monthly meetings at NORTHS since around 1993, when we moved from the North Sydney Club due to its closure. We have found all the staff over those years to be extremely helpful, with the Club going through several upgrades to improve the facilities. Thank you, NORTHS, for all you do to help us conduct our meetings with ease.
NORTHS and the Functions Team are an absolute delight to partner for our meetings and functions since 2013. The support they offer us as a local community group is outstanding and its nice to have the stress taken out of booking events.
We have used North Sydney Leagues Club as the theory venue for our courses for almost 10 years now. Being able to secure regular hire dates long term, and being flexible with room sizes where possible have helped us to establish a consistent presence in the marketplace. The facilities are always well presented and comfortable for our clients.
The local Liberal Party has been holding our quarterly meetings and many other functions at NORTHS for in excess of 20 years and have always found the staff to be extremely helpful and accommodating with any special requests for our functions. We find NORTHS an ideal location as there is plenty of free parking, good quality well priced food should people wish to have dinner prior to the meetings, plus a large bar for post-meeting drinks. In addition, many Party members have taken out a membership of NORTHS to take advantage of member discount.
The Aus7 Modellers Group, a group of enthusiastic O scale railway modellers, has been holding O scale Modellers Forums at NORTHS for over 12 years. During that time there have been a number of changes at the club all of which have resulted in a greatly improved enviroment which we hope to continue to share into the future.
The club’s facilities, including the Bistro suit our needs admirably and the 50 to 60 model railway enthusiasts who attend twice each year really do appreciate the flexibility of the Ken Irvine Room where our meetings are held. The ability to divide the room into two separate areas means that presentations and talks can occur at the same time as products and items are displayed in the divided exhibition space.
NORTHS staff has always been extremely helpful and deserve to be congratulated for their ability to record and remember our set-up needs from one forum to another, without any need for us to continually repeat our special requirements for the day: that’s service!
The Travellers Club of the Geographical Society of NSW has been welcomed by NORTHS several times a year for the past few years. NORTHS is convenient for most of our members, parking is easy, the meeting room is comfortable, assistance with photo projection has been competent, and the refreshments served entirely satisfactory. It’s a good place to meet.
Southern Alps Ski Club have held meetings at NORTHS since 1999. NORTHS is ideally located for our members who reside all over Sydney, free onsite parking is a bonus. Our members enjoy the benefit of meeting at a licensed Club where they can have a meal, coffee or drink prior to our meeting. The variety of meeting room sizes and catering options allow us to tailor the room for the expected attendees. The booking and payment processes at NORTHS have been easy to handle. We have been very pleased with the service provided at NORTHS.
We recently had our mother’s 95th birthday party in The Lounge at Norths and had a fantastic time. We chose Norths as it was a central location for most of us. All the staff were very helpful, polite and always smiling. The Lounge was perfect – private, lots of room to spread out and didn’t feel boxed in like other function rooms. The meals were delicious and very substantial portions. Thank you to Emily, Justin, the chefs and all the others for making it all run smoothly.”
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience in using the facilities at the Norths. The room was appropriate for our usage. The highlights for us as clients were the ongoing checking on our needs by Katelyn throughout both days, the “on-call” assistance from Katelyn in that she was always a phone call away (something that other venues do not provide, which is very frustrating and time-wasting when we have needed assistance), the cleanliness of the room, the ability to easily control the temperature, the access to natural light through the large windows, the view, the easy access to on-site parking, and also the catering was very nice, always prompt (again, something that other venues seem to struggle with), and catered for special dietary needs.
We were very happy with the service, and would book a room with the Norths again.
We had an easy, stress-free experience, which is very important when you have so much to think about as a presenter!
We have used Norths for a number of years for our fundraising functions and our election night celebrations. We keep coming back because the people we have dealt with at Norths over the years have always provided a first class service, so that we can be confident that the evening will go off without a hitch. For the election on 23 March 2019 we did not hesitate to contact Natasha Bennet and request Norths’ assistance once again, and once again they delivered.
These are some of the factors that contributed to making the evening the success it was
- AV system operated by the Competent Technical Officer Rocky was marvellous. The TV station reporting on the status of the election was transmitted from the main screen, and we had two smaller screens providing up to date booth information from our makeshift tally room next door to the auditorium.
- Food: we had a range of excellent finger food which met all our requirements
- Drinks: we ran a bar tab which worked very well, and we were kept well informed during the night as to how it was going.
- The overall management of the function, led by Jack, was very professional.
I have no hesitation in recommending Norths for your important functions; but please don’t try to book ahead of us!!
We have held our AGM at Norths for the last few years. It is a convenient location – lots of parking for our attendees and good overall set up.. Great support from the functions team. Technical support when we need it. Catering always professional and good value for money. Always a pleasure to deal with Natasha and the team.
